Happy St. Patrick's Day! This past few weeks have been my attempt at rekindling Acem Gaming as a whole. I've probably released more videos in the past two weeks than the past years, and I apologize for the delay. I am back to make more videos and hope to keep working on my channel for the rest of the year. Things that you can expect from me in the near future are tons of tutorials that will be posted both to my website and released on Youtube, more playable games on my website, and an updated website to improve navigation and function. I also plan on making weekly/biweekly blog posts to keep you guys up to date on what is going on.
As you've seen in the past few weeks my focus right now is getting the C# tutorials migrated to my website along with new Youtube videos to support them. I'm also working on a few Unity physics tutorials as requested from Youtube comments, and have a few other unrelated odds & ends tutorials planned. Next week I will be continuing this trend with finishing up the other two pillars of object oriented programming for the C# tutorials and releasing a few more Physics tutorials -- these ones focused more on Unity. If you have any suggestions for tutorials you would like to see, please let me know and I will work on them. To follow me on Youtube click the link below.
Acem Gaming Game Development News
Right now I am working on finishing up the alpha demo version on the game I've been working on for the past few months. Once I am satisfied with a releasable demo I will be putting it in on my website under Game Demos. The parts that I am finishing up are finishing the story, adding a few more models, and putting in some dialogue. I'm going to try to finish all of that up in the next few weeks. Once I release it I will need your guys' help with making improvements, and adding to the game. My long term goal is to have a releasable app to the Google Play store and maybe the Apple Store if it does well.
Acem Gameplay News
So in the last few weeks I have released ten Clash Royale videos on my main channel. I'm going to migrate these videos to my other channel Acem Gameplay so that I do not crowd up my main channel which is focused on tutorials. Hopefully this makes it easier for you guys to get the content that you wanted. I've also been playing a lot of the messenger game Everwing and plan on posting videos to the Acem Gameplay channel on that as well. Unity hasn't released any March news yet, but they did talk about the release of Unity 5.6 in their February 28th news article. Some of the key new features of Unity 5.6 according to Unity are:
-Progressive Lightmapper speeds up iteration and testing of lighting scenarios and reduces baking times.
- Navigation Mesh system adds AI and pathfinding to more easily control character navigation through giant game worlds.
- New Video Player supports smooth 4k playback to provide immersive video and enable the creation of 360 video experiences.
-Native support for Vulkan graphics API provides better performances across Windows, Tizen, and ANdroid platforms, while consuming less device power.
-TextMesh Pro provides improved control of text formatting and layout through Advanced Text Rendering and is now available for free to users of 5.3+, with native Unity integration coming in Unity 2017.
They've also talked about the next generation of Unity being called Unity 2017. Beta signups will begin in April. For more info on Unity related news, click the link below.
