Hello everyone. Unity came out yesterday and I completely missed it because I made my Weekly Update video before the new version came out! There are a ton of new features that came out, but I will outline my favorites in this post. There have been massive improvements in lighting with a Progressive Lightmapper preview which provides immediate feedback when lighting areas and various light modes which further improve lighting. Vulkan (next generation graphics api) support has been implemented which should drastically improve speeds (out of the box 30-60%!). More features have been implemented with particles as well as increased particle performance. A new video player allows video to be played in 4k as well as 360 degree VR experiences. More 2D features have also been added to Unity to create new Physics experience and provide more interaction. New platforms are also now supported including Facebook Gameroom, Google Cardboard, and Nintendo Switch.

I will continue to bring you updates on what Unity is doing, just know that some stuff might come out after I make a video.
